Sister knows best

Herald Staff Report Grand Forks Herald
Published: 02/04/2010

In the latest in the sinfully funny “Late Night Catechism” series, returning Tuesday night to Chester Fritz Auditorium, Sister is now offering lessons on the sacraments of marriage and the last rites, including her own wacky version of “The Newlywed Game.”

“Til Death Do Us Part: Late Night Catechism 3” is next step in the performances by a series of nuns who had their own way of teaching students about the saints, venial sins, guilt, limbo and more.

This show, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, is one in which you are advised to bring along your significant other and your sense of humor, the show’s promoters said in a news release.

This “one-nun show” (performed by Mary Zentmyer) was written by MariPat Donovan and is a follow-up to “Late Nite Catechism,” “Late Nite Catechism 2” and “Sister’s Christmas Catechism.” Marriage is bound to be just as ripe for laughs as the first installments.

“You think you have marital woes,” Sister quips at one point. “Try being the bride of Christ for 30-some years.”

Tickets are $13 and $20 for adults, and $10 and $15 for students, and are available at Chester Fritz box office.
